“Menorah and olive branches, good oil, and an aura of light,
Light in the land, light at the home and peace over Israel”

Israel’s emblem, in the words of a forgotten childhood poem from the founding days of the State of Israel, is the lead player of the exhibition “Not Just a Symbol.”

From the end of the 1940’s and up to this day, the powerful symbol has been used by Israeli caricaturists to depict the Jewish state and its people in their mission to provide commentary on the most significant events and decisive moments of our history.
The exhibition offers visitors numerous points of view on Israeli reality and inspires new ideas, introspection, as well as a close examination of ourselves as individuals and as a people.
